A massive sunspot pointed directly at earth can unleash significant solar flares

NASA and multiple other space and Weather Watchers are keeping a close eye on a newly developed dark and volatile spot within the sun that has dramatically grown in size this week.

According to reports, between Sunday and Monday the sunspot named AR3038 more than doubled in its size making it several times wider than the earth‘s diameter and it’s continued to expand over the past 48 hours. according to NASA heliophysicist C. Alex Young.

The sunspot which is a dark and cooler area within the suns surface has an unstable magnetic field that can produce solar flares and coronal mass ejections of charged particles of plasma. These flares and ejections  can cause mass chaos for electrical and radio communication systems within earth and its atmosphere.
