Amazon’s Alexa may someday be able to speak in a dead loved ones voice

According to some reports, Amazon has apparently been developing tech that will allow the Alexa Amazon voice assistant to mimic anyone’s voice after listening for just only a minute.

This new feature that could possibly be coming to future Amazon Alexa units was mentioned at Amazons re:MARS conference as a way to "make memories last"

According to statements from the conference Alexa will be able to replicate anyone’s voice after just a minute of listening. A video of the feature showed a child Who asked to have their grandmother read a story. Alexa quickly confirmed before the voice change was done.

It’s not currently clear how far along in development this feature is or when it could possibly roll out. But it does bring up some potential security concerns with the ability to re-create a voice pattern exactly.
