According to a report by Reuters, Apple agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing Apple of continuing to release new MacBooks (between 2015 and 2019) despite its knowledge of its reliability issues.

If this deal is approved, Apple will pay customers in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Washington who had to replace their keyboard multiple times around 395$, While the ones who had to replace the keyboard a single time will be paid around 125$, and finally, the ones who only had to replace keycaps will receive around $50.

The infamous butterfly keyboard was first introduced with the 2015 12-inch MacBook, its main goal was to allow for even thinner laptops, but it was riddled with reliability issues, Despite the various issues with the butterfly keyboard, Apple still said that the majority of users had no issues.
