According to MacRumors, the popular weather app "Dark Sky" has been taken off the App Store. In September, it was "removed from the App Store in September and it stopped functioning for existing users starting today." This comes after Apple acquired Dark Sky back in March 2020.

As a result of the acquisition, the Dark Sky Android app was shut down, according to PhoneArena. Most of Dark Sky's functionality has also since been incorporated into Apple's native Weather app, and is available to users running iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura or later.

According to mashable.com, Apple's Weather app now has a hyperlocal forcast, meaning that it can "generate a forecast for not just for your town, but also your block." In order for this feature to work, you need to "let the app send you notifications, which can be enabled from the menu button in the upper right corner of the location list view."
