At&T and Verizon have agreed to once again delay 5G around Airports
Seattle International Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration, AT&T and Verizon are to once again delay the rollout of some 5G radios until July 2023. Spokespersons say its to give some airlines more time to retrofit airplane equipment to ensure that there wont be any interference whatsoever

Multiple carriers such as Version and AT&T spent a combined 70 billion on 5G equipment last year. that equipment will provide a big boost to 5G Speed and  coverage, but some carriers have agreed to hold off on deploying the service around some airports.

The FAA is concerned that some signals that the 5G C-Band spectrum gives off could possibly  interfere with receivers on altimeters and other instruments used on planes to detect the ground when landing in low visibility conditions.

"We believe we have identified a path that will continue to enable aviation and 5G C-band wireless to safely co-exist, We appreciate the willingness of Verizon and AT&T to continue this important and productive collaboration with the aviation industry. - FAA Acting Administrator Billy Nolen"

Verizon officials stated Friday that the latest agreement allows the company to "lift the voluntary limitations on 5G network deployment around some airports in a multi staged approach over the coming months."
