Barry Croft Jr the "Ringleader" of the Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot has been sentenced to 19 1/2 years in federal prison.
Investigators on the case uncovered that Berry and his other militia members were in the process of planning a well-coordinated kidnapping of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer from her vacation home near Elk Rapids and were even planning on blowing up several bridges to slow down the police from chasing them. Ultimately they were caught after trying to buy explosives from undercover FBI agents.
Berry was also arrested on conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, this charge adds 10 years for possession of an unregistered destruction device, five years supervised release and $3,500 in fines.
