Lake Powell, the second biggest reservoir in the united states is very crucial  and is running low on water. lake Powell is part of a system that supplies water to over 40 million and power  to 5.8 million.

According to the U.S bureau of Reclamation, the lake currently stands at 3,526 feet around "1,074.73 meters" around 24% of its total capacity.  if the lake drops below 3,490 feet there will be serious problems and it will become uncertain if people will still have access to water and power.

"We clearly weren't sufficiently prepared for the need to move this quickly  - John Fleck UNM Department of water recourses director"

Federal officials are still keeping hope that he water levels will rise within the coming months once the snow melts in the Rockies, but more will still need to be done to ensure that the dam can continue to supply hydropower.
