Liz Truss has just become the UK's newest prime minister after being formally appointed by Queen Elizabeth during a ceremony known as the "kissing of hands"
Boris Johnson formally offered his resignation to the queen a few months back following backlash from every angle, Johnson offered his final farewell address earlier this morning, then shortly after Truss was named the 15th leader of the Queen's reign and 3rd female Prime Minister.
Immediately after being appointed, Truss promised that she would deal with the surging cost of energy and would also cut taxes. She is possibly planning on putting a temporary freeze on energy bills but how that would work is still very unclear at this time.
Liz Truss will likely have no honeymoon period and if she does it won't long as the country is clamoring for answers to questions left unanswered by Boris Johnson.
