A press release from the governor's office reported that migrants were "from the countries of Colombia, Cuba, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela." Soon after, Florida governor Ron Desantis tweeted that he would "gladly facilitate the transport of illegal immigrants to sanctuary jurisdictions."

NPR reported that "A number of migrants told NPR their flight originated in San Antonio, and that they were being transported to Boston, not Martha's Vineyard." Many more reports show that many people were from San Antonio and were lied to that they would recieve "shelter, support for 90 days, help with work permits and English lessons," said Reuters
