Apple's new M2 ultra chip is quite the mighty processor, featuring 24 general-purpose cores and up to 76 integrated GPU cores.
However, according to the results from a purported Geekbench 5 benchmark, it seems that Apple's M2 Ultra chip just barely creeps up on the AMD Ryzen Threadipper Pro w5995wx and the Intel Core i9 13900k, both of which are top of line processors.
The main underlying issue with Apple's M2 Ultra chip when compared to the competition is that it just doesn't have enough cores and clocks. The tests show that realistically, the M2 Ultra is just as good as the latest AMD and Intel Processors, but you can be the judge of that.
The M2 is still a blazing-fast processor. Considering that it's still early on in its life, things may change later on. But so far, it's off to a rocky start.
