According to MacRumors, Apple leaker URedditor managed to get ahold of a diagram of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. After analyzing the document, the leaker confirmed that the Pro versions of these phones will have WiFi 6E. The diagrams are shown below.
According to the leaker, D8x refers to the Pro versions of the iPhone 15 lineup while D3y refers to the base version. The current iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are represented by D7x, while D2y refers to the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. Unfortunately, it seems that WiFi 6E is going to be restricted to just the Pro versions this time around.
This type of seperation isn't new to Apple. Even though the only major differences to the Pro versus Base versions of the iPhone 13 and earlier were cameras (and even then, the differences weren't noticeable to anyone outside of people interested in photography), according to Engadget, starting with the iPhone 14 models, Apple seems to be starting a noticeable separation trend between the 2 different tiers of the device.
With the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max however, Apple seems to be wanting to further the trend even more than just an older processor and slightly downgraded camera performance. This year, they want to extend it to the RAM and frame, which is said to be titanium. They could also include solid state volume and power buttons for the first time.
Finally, according to AppleInsider, there are also rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max may also have a 12MP periscope lens, a new A17 chip using TSMC's 3-nanometer technology, and 8 GB of RAM.
