According to Engadget, the in-house TVs that Roku announced at CES 2023 are hitting Best Buy store shelves today. This is a new venture for Roku, however they won't stop partnering with brands like TCL and Hisense to integrate Roku into their TVs.
There are 2 models of TVs to choose from; Roku Select and Roku Plus. Roku Select models come in sizes ranging from 24 to 75 in (60 to 190 cm), and the cheapest version starts at $149. Roku did state that the price may drop to $120 by this summer.
Roku Plus models come in 3 sizes; 55 in (140 cm), 65 in (165 cm), or 75 in (190 cm). The Select models will most likely come in a HD and 4K display option as well, since it's not necessary to integrate 4K display technology in the small versions, like the 24 in model.
The Roku Select price, as said previously, will start at $149 and go up to $280 for the HD models, while the 4K models start at $320 and go up to $800, according to CNET. The HD models will have Roku Voice Remotes, and the 4K models will have Enhanced Roku Voice Remotes, which gives you the ability to use headphones and a lost remote finder.
The Roku Plus TVs start at $650 for the 55 in version and will top off at $1,200 for the 75 in version, with the 65 in version being priced at $800. Not many details on these products have been officially announced by Roku yet.
"These Roku-branded TVs will not only complement the current lineup of partner-branded Roku TV models, but also allow us to enable future smart TV innovations." Mustafa Ozgen, Roku's President of Devices announced in a January press release.
Lastly, there will be an AI algorithm that recommends content to you, similar to YouTube or Netflix, according to TechCrunch.
