Yep, you heard right. In 2 days (January 24th), the Mac will turn 40. This is a monumental moment. The Mac is now a middle-aged dad, and someone should get it black balloons.

Ok, jokes aside, this is pretty cool. According to Apple Insider, this is going to be a big day for executives and employees at Apple. "For Apple SVP Greg Joswiak, 'It's not a story of nostalgia, or history passing us by. The fact we did this for 40 years is unbelievable.'"

Since then, it has grown to be so popular among Apple's lineup that it's now the 2nd most popular product they sell, only beaten by the iPhone. Speaking of the iPhone, it has been a great contributor to the Mac, such as introducing the concept of gestures on the Mac, as well as introducing the concept of building in-house processors, and then also building the base for the Apple Silicon in MacBooks.

According to WIRED, "Unlike an aging person, Macs now are slimmer, faster, and last much longer before having to recharge." I can definitely tell where they are coming from, as my 13" 2020 M1 MacBook Air can sometimes last 2 days on a charge, even with tons of Chrome tabs and programs open. It's still incredibly efficient, even with countless users that used it before me, since it is a school-sanctioned computer.
