The FCC has  been looking into TikTok for quite a while and over the past month it’s gotten greater with the FCC even threatening to have the app removed from App Stores.

This is unlikely to happen though, because the federal communications commission is going to have a tough time convincing Apple and Google to remove the popular app from their App Stores.

Statements found in a letter to Apple and google which were recently disclosed called TikTok a

"Sophisticated surveillance tool that harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data."

The letter then called on companies to remove the app from stores. US officials claim that they simply can’t trust TikTok with private data gathered through the app which could be handed over to the authority  regime in China. however TikTok states that this is something that they would never do.

Tiktok has also stated that they are willing to move certain services and servers to the United States to fulfill the FCC's needs but nothing is 100% confirmed yet.
