Casual Threads Info

Let me begin by saying, Threads is not perfect. If you read that disclaimer, yes, it's true, I'm biased toward it, but it's far from Twitter for now. It has potential, but it's not there yet. The reason I say that is: no desktop communication (extremely crucial for some Twitter users), not even likes, is allowed. In fact, going to the site will take you to a banner with a QR Code at the bottom right directing you to download Threads. Luckily, you can see profiles. just go to threads.net/mtknews, and replace mtknews with the profile you want to go to (unless that is, of course, MTK News, in which case it doesn't need to be modified). You can then from there view Threads and Replies (which, yes, Replies only show replies unlike Twitter rebranding "Tweets & Replies" to "Replies" while keeping the Tweets. False advertising.), and... that's it.

Okay, but what about Twitter? Things are unusual, but still pretty chill. Normal Tweets remain. Instagram and Threads are trending. Your usual trends are trending. This has, however, created a split among people on Twitter. Some think that Threads will never take off due to "free speech" reasons, others think it's the #TwitterKiller.

During writing, however, a BOMBSHELL DROPPED and now Threads is being sued by Twitter because Meta has former Twemployeets (bad pun, I know). Here's what you need to know:

  • X Corp (Twitter's new parent company) is claiming that Meta had access to trade secrets through the employees that they hired and used it to create Threads.
  • X Corp sees Threads as a competitor formally.
  • They don't exactly want to kill Threads but rather have Meta stop using the trade secrets.
  • X Corp wants Meta to keep things that could be relevant to a dispute.

This, in a nutshell, is Twitter saying "Hey, you stole from us and we see you as a threat". What happens next is a mystery.

Now, let's get into what's going well for Threads. First, the posts. Here's a collection of great posts for your convenience. Also, Zuck didn't go crazy and is sanely running Threads. Though there is Meta Verified, notable figures will still get the check for $0. You won't get rate limited because someone won't pay their Google Cloud bill, & half the Instagram team wasn't fired. All seems well. Threads will join the fediverse via ActivityPub, letting Mastadoners and Threaders come together as one (and soon Tumblr bloggers). It's the Matrix of the Social world.

Satanic Mentions???

Okay, now we're gonna talk about some religious topics. If the number that is the digit 6 repeated 3* scares you, skip ahead to the next "chapter" (i guess?). This article does not and will not reflect the values of MTK News itself or the team, including me unless otherwise stated. Also, I might refer to some of these people as "theorists", but I don't mean to offend anyone. It's simply for lack of a better word. Okay, now that that's out of the way, let's begin.

Some theorists are saying that Zuck is satanic and that's why he's pro-lgbt, which is the reason for this. Others think it was a joke. Most of us theorists (because when it comes down to it, we're all theorising about this, however I will not refer to the majority as such to differentiate) think that it's an @ sign (myself included). Now, direct your attention to the tweets.

It holds weight.
Mother Peacock is way too good at math.

These are 2 totally different things (one being a big stretch, but still there) that lead to the number in Threads. Okay, we're done here.

Outro to Casual Threads Info

This is the last "chapter" of the article. Like the title suggests, this is only for Casual Threads Info, not Satanic Mentions.

Before I lay more info, let's recap.

Threads is similar to Twitter. It has many lost features from it, but is much more wholesome. Many people like it, many don't. Twitter is suing Threads for copying.

Okay, now, one more last bit of info... switching is popular now. Many people are flocking to Threads, myself included. See you on the other side!
