In the wake of Tropical Storm Ian, officials have declared a State of Emergency for the state of Florida.

The National Hurricane Center predicts that Tropical Storm Ian will eventually become a Major Hurricane (Category 3+) by time it makes landfall in Cuba sometime on Tuesday. A Hurricane Warning has been issued for the Western parts of Cuba, and a Tropical Storm Warning being issued for parts of Central Cuba. There are currently no tropical weather alerts issued for Florida.

Ian is expected to slow down in the Gulf of Mexico before it eventually makes landfall in Florida sometime Thursday. A State of Emergency has been declared for Florida for extensive flooding and powerful winds. There are currently no evacuation orders.
