A federal judge has declared that you can sue Subway for misleading claims of 100% tuna.

A federal judge in California recently ruled that Subway can be sued for misleading customers about the amount of tuna that is present in its products. Subway currently claims that it’s tuna. Products are 100% tuna, which has been found to be false to some extent.

Subway was originally sued back in 2021 by Nilima Amin a resident of Oakland, California. She claims that instead of one percent tuna they are using other fish species and animal products.

These claims are backed by findings done at the UCLA marine biology laboratory by biologist Pual Barber. Subway then went on and attempted to defend itself by stating that any non-tuna product found is a result of cross-contamination during sandwich preparation. However, the US District Judge, John tigar decided that subway can still be sued even if their claims of cross-contamination are true.
