In a Tweet from Twitter Dev, they plan to shut down free access to the Twitter API by Febuary 9, killing some bots that you may use every day.
Starting February 9, we will no longer support free access to the Twitter API, both v2 and v1.1. A paid basic tier will be available instead š§µ

However, it may not be the bots that you want dead. This feature won't be changing the amount of spam bots that are on the platform, but remove the ones that send funny cute animal images every hour and turn your friends comment into a quote. Some bot accounts have even posted their goodbyes. For example, Alt text reader, a bot that smpliy reads Alt text, already shutting down.
This bot will probably stop working next week.

It's been a long time coming at this point, but I'm still disappointed.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this hellsite more accessible! ā¤ļø https://t.co/jVBcgR5UeM
However, the richer bots will be able to have their bots still working, at a $1000 dollar stand-like price of $149 for 500 requests. Twitter has released a table where you can see the estimated price per request.
You can view the entire table at this website.
